Arrival of the metrological signal at partner laboratories:
This section is intended for partner laboratories and provides an overview of the steps involved in receiving the REFIMEVE metrological signal. Below is an explanation of these steps, along with the technical sheet detailing the specifications of the rack and fibers.
The first step involves the availability of RENATER fibers. RENATER then installs Optical Add-Drop Multiplexers (OADMs), which allow the REFIMEVE metrological signal to be added or extracted from the RENATER network. This marks the beginning of the metrological link deployment.
The REFIMEVE or MuQuans team installs all necessary instruments and commissions the link. A performance optimization period is required before the metrological signal can be fully utilized.
Two Scenarios for Connection:
All instruments are provided by EquipEx.
The metrological signal arrives at the RENATER Network Node located at your university or institute. The regeneration or extraction station is located within this node. In the first scenario, a user module will be installed at your premises, as close as possible to your experiment or frequency comb.
To connect your laboratory, you need to ensure that a fiber conforming to the G652 standard (SMF-28 reference) is available between the Network Node and your laboratory. Additionally, your experiment room must be connected.
For this, please contact the Computer Resource Center (or equivalent) at your university, which often operates its own intra-university fiber network.
The specifications of the fibers compatible with REFIMEVE are outlined in the document “Fiche technique pour l’hébergement de matériel scientifique du projet REFIMEVE.”
In addition to the fiber, it is essential to ensure the availability of space or a rack in the RENATER node and in your laboratory, with the detailed specifications provided in the technical sheet.
